Professional Cuddler Can Improve Your Life!
A professional cuddler who makes a living from hugging clients has said that her service is so popular there is a waitlist.
Aleksandra Kasperek launched the unusual business two years ago in Katowice, Poland – after reading about a similar idea online.
Ania Od Przytulania is the only professional cuddling salon in Silesia, a historical region that lies mostly in southwestern Poland, and already has a steady client base – especially among those aged 40 to 60.
‘There is really great interest in the salon,’ Aleksandra said. ‘I didn’t expect there would be so many people interested.
‘Although it is sad how many people are lonely.
‘Due to high demand, appointments must even be made several days in advance.’
Aleksandra, who has a degree in physiotherapy and is a trained masseuse, emphasises that her cuddling service is platonic.
Each session begins with introductions and a gentle hug in the ‘teddy bear’ position.

After introducing herself, Aleksandra asks the client about any health conditions they have – including a sore throat, a runny nose, or a fever.
She also asks whether the client is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Then, the client is given time to read through the ‘hug rules’ which clearly state that any behavior ‘crossing sexual boundaries’ will result in the session ending immediately.
After taking a shower, the client changes into the robe provided for them.
Aleksandra said: ‘Before I start hugging, I ask the client why he [or she] came to me and how I can help them.’
Using this information, she conducts ‘professional coaching sessions’ whilst hugging her clients.

Aleksandra’s cuddle room is decorated in a ‘truly royal style’, according to her website.
It is equipped with a hydromassage shower and a luxurious bathtub.
The cuddling itself takes place on ‘fluffy, fragrant pillows and blankets with calm music playing in the background’.
A fireplace is lit throughout the session and the client is offered a sweet treat, coffee, tea, hot chocolate or a glass of champagne.
Those who are lonely or who have experienced traumatic relationships benefit most from the cuddle therapy, according to Aleksandra.
‘Some clients of the cuddling salon are people who have had traumas, fears of emotional closeness, sometimes also of sexual closeness,’ she explained.
‘They are looking for help, understanding and support.
‘Ladies who have experienced physical violence from their partners come to me.

‘Thanks to hug therapy, they learn again that touch is not only associated with physical pain, but touch is something nice, pleasant and soothing.
‘That by properly stimulating the sense of touch, cares and worries disappear and life becomes beautiful and safe again.’
According to her website, Aleksandra’s ‘guiding motto’ is: ‘When you are sad, when you feel bad, come hug me.’
Aleksandra said that her regular clients attend an hourly session once per week.
It costs 149 Polish złoty, or £30, for a one-hour session and 299 Polish złoty, or £58, for a two-hour session with Aleksandra.
Speaking to SO Magazine, Aleksandra said that she had one client who was initially ‘very scared’ of the treatment.

In order to calm him down, Aleksandra offered a familiarisation visit which lasted half an hour.
She said: ‘When he showed up, we drank coffee and played a board game. Later, he played me his favorite songs and I held his hand gently the whole time.’
She added: ‘It turned out that he had been sexually abused as a teenager. His memories came back.’
Now, the client now visits Aleksandra once a month and is comfortable being hugged.
Aleksandra said: ‘It makes me very happy when I see the results of my work.’
